Paleoceanographic approaches
The course examines the relevant ocean biogeochemical processes are modified by global change. Among them, special attention will be paid to the cycles of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in the oceans in relation to the levels of CO2 and its interaction with climate. Issues such as mass transfer through the interfaces, ocean acidification, the interactions between these cycles and ecosystem functioning and the role of biogeochemical cycles in climate regulation will be presented in depth.
