The course studies the investigation strategies used to obtain new high added-value products derived from the processing of various marine origin materials (macro seaweeds and marine invertebrates, fishing sub-products and aquaculture, etc.), and it focuses on the development of new pharmaceutical compounds and products and of new biopolymers and ceramics which can be further used in the field of regenerative medicine. The course also focuses on the use of various marine products for the design and elaboration of functional nutriments.
