The rectors of the universities of Cádiz, Vigo, Las Palmas, La Laguna, Murcia, Cartagena (Polytechnic), Huelva, Málaga and Almería, and the Vice Chancellors of the universities of Granada, Algarve (Portugal) and Abdelmalek Essaâdi (Morocco), which are the promoters of marine excellence campuses of Spain, signed on Tuesday in Cádiz the constitution protocol of the International Campus of Excellence Marine Network (Cei.marnet), considered "the largest marine scientific aggregation of Europe." It was an act framed within the Latin American Meeting of Marine Sciences, held in the city of Cádiz. The four marine campuses of international excellence of Spain (Campus do Mar in Galicia, Mare Nostrum in Murcia, Tricontinental Atlantic in the Canary Islands and Cei.mar in Andalusia) were in this meeting that was also attended and backed by representatives of the various research centers and institutes which are also among the promoters. Those were, among others, the National Research Council (CSIC), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), the Royal Observatory of the Navy, the Institute Hydrographer of the Navy, the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Fishing, Food and Organic Production, the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology or the Andalusian Historical Heritage Institute. Among the objectives of Cei.marnet are the coordination of thematic research and transfer groups, the offering of teacher vacancies and doctoral programs, the promotion of students, teachers and researchers exchanges and the development of specific projects.
